D Ebenezer Sundar Singh was born in 1967 in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Singh is an Indian- American visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He studied Diploma in Fine Arts at the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai. His artworks shows the influence of both Hinduism and Christianity. This is because his childhood years were influenced by the binary cultural heritage ofhis hometown Tirunveli that houses Nellaiappar temple and Christian cathedrals. This kind of integration has helped him to accept and interpret the rich culture of India in the light of different perspectives.
Singh represented India in 1998 at the International Artist Camp in Sri Lanka. At this event, his artworks were exhibited alongside famous German painter and sculptor Thomas Scheibitz. ...

He also received the Lalit Kala Akademi research grant (1991-92), Junior Fellowship of the Government of India (1995-96) and the Arnawaz Vasudev Scholarship (1995). He has taught for many years at the Loyola Institute of Visual Communication, the Vijiaya College of Fine Arts at Gadag, Karnataka, the Government of Arts and Crafts and Hindustan Engineering College both at Chennai. He was also honoured with Charles Wallace scholarship, U.K.
