Hem Raj, born in 1968 in Delhi is an Indian contemporary artist. Hem Raj studied painting at the College of Art, New Delhi in 1987-1993. He has experimented with variety of mediums in his art works which is proper amalgamation of unique artistic and modernist techniques. His expertise challenges the large canvases that delve deep into explaining the real human existence. The amalgamation of the colours and its countless tones gives the rivers, hills, vegetation its own vocabulary in his landscape formations, His impressionistic works enlighten and create curiosity to understand and relate with his language of expression. At the India Art Fair 2014, Dhoomimal gallery showcased his works for the very first time. One is reminded of the mesmerizing beauties of nature, unbound, mysterious and pulsating with cosmic energy.
