Born in 1984 in Madhya Pradesh, Hemant Rao is a self-taught abstract artist with great skills. He received the National Academy Award from Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi in 2019. He also worked at Graphic Studio, Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal between 2005 and 2010. He has held numerous solo shows in various parts of India and his artworks are a part of many prestigious museums such as Aarah in Bihar Government Museum; Triveni Museum, Ujjain; Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand; Bharat Bhawan (Graphic Studio), Bhopal; I.T.M. College, Gwalior and Kala Bhavan, Chandigarh.
